Description
I painted this view of King Edward’s Bay at Tynemouth on a day when the North Sea looked almost tropical — a rare, dazzling blue under the sun. From my vantage point above the bay, the small figures of swimmers dotted the water, their movements adding life and scale to the scene. I was drawn to the contrast between the vast sweep of sea and sky and the tiny, fleeting presence of people within it — a moment of light, warmth, and calm on the North East coast.
