Description
This is my studio oil painting of an Atlantic puffin—the charming "Tommy Noddy"—from a personal trip to the Farne Islands. I created this piece from a photograph I took there a couple of years ago, and I aimed to capture the intensity of the moment the bird stood sentinel.
My focus was on using oil paint to celebrate the puffin's features: the vibrant colours of its beak and black and white feathers contrasting against the rough, rugged texture of the sea-battered rock. It serves as my vivid reminder of the incredible beauty and character of coastal wildlife.
